Rules Overview

Rules Overview

America's Olde West delivers period-accurate skirmish action at the individual figure level. Players command small forces of cowboys, cavalry troopers, lawmen, outlaws, or Native American warriors across the iconic landscapes of the frontier. The system emphasises individual character, morale under fire, and the unpredictable nature of close-range gunfights in the era of single-action revolvers and lever-action rifles.

Key Features

What Makes This System Distinctive

Character-Level Detail

Each figure has individual attributes — shooting skill, nerve, and reputation. Heroes and villains play differently on the table.

Period Weapons

Detailed rules for revolvers, rifles, shotguns, and period artillery. Range, reload time, and stopping power all modelled accurately.

Morale and Nerve

Men break under fire. The nerve system captures the psychological reality of frontier gunfights — not every man stands his ground.

Scenario System

Twelve included scenarios covering bank robberies, cavalry pursuits, ranch sieges, and frontier skirmishes. Fully expandable.

From the Designer

Designer's Notes

America's Olde West was born from a lifelong fascination with the history of the frontier — not the Hollywood myth, but the genuine, complicated, often brutal reality. The rules draw on primary sources, period military manuals, and extensive research into the weapons and tactics of the era. My aim was a game that feels authentic without being a history lecture.
